Memorial Weekend Public Star Party at Red Rock Canyon State Park. Location: 37749 Abbott Dr, Cantil, CA 93519
The astronomy event is free and open to the public, however the State Park has a fee of $6 per car. The public visiting can park in the main parking lot near the visitor center and walk up to the first campsite. You can not park on the gravel road in any area! Solar observing during the day, night time star gazing. Astronomy presentation on Saturday night. Weather permitting.
Please do not touch the telescopes, unless you are instructed to do so with the owner's permission. There will be no running around the telescopes. No smoking in the area of the telescopes. No white light flashlights. Use red flashlights or white flashlights that have been covered in red cellophane of some type. Be careful where you are walking especially on the gravel road and around the telescope area.
